When I was little I used to love reading the instruction manuals that came with Sega Mega Drive (aka Genesis) games. My favourites were side scrolling beat em ups, a genre that seems to have disappeared with the emergence of 3D graphics and next generation consoles.
Speaking with people of my age group (and younger/older) there are warm memories of this type of game, especially Streets of Rage 2. Our aim with this game is to try and hit those heights. Naturally we want to add our own unique twist!
We intend to play with the expectations of the gamer, throwing in some additions to the gameplay you may not expect. We are also lucky to get some fantastic musicians working on this, as well as a quality programmer and fine work from our art team.
